Agapé Language Centre has an agreement with Immigration Refugee and Citizenship Canada to provide high-quality language instruction for newcomers who have come to Calgary.
LINC is a free, federally funded program for permanent residents and convention refugees. This program is available for ages 18 years and older. The program focuses on English or French language used in relevant and meaningful contexts within community, work, and study settings. Topics such as banking, health, Canadian culture, and employment are commonly chosen by students as the focus of instruction.
Students have the option of choosing Canada’s two official languages (English or French). At Agape we are an English speaking school.
Your choice of Francophone (French) schools in Calgary are listed below who teaches (Cours de langue pour les immigrants au Canada - CLIC) the French version of LINC:

Society du Centre - 403-249-1749

Agapé currently has four levels of instruction, CLB 1 to 4. We Specialize in providing education for low level students reaching those that may have not learned literacy in their mother language and bringing them up to the required language skills for Canadian Citizenship. Learn more about the different levels here.
Notice: All LINC morning classes are now in-person, CLB 2, 3 & 4 PM are Online
Agapé runs on a continual intake semester system. This means that students can enter the class anytime during each semester. We have three semesters during the year: Fall, Winter, and Spring. Students can expect to be in their level for at least a year.
Each teacher works hard to enrich the experience of each student whether it is by teaching them about Canadian holidays or turning a dry lesson into an exciting learning experience.
The Registration Process
There are a few steps for students to register for the LINC program:
Go to Calgary Language & Assessment Referral Centre (CLARC) to write your test. The test will assess your English literacy in reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Phone them at (403) 262 2656 to make an appointment.
Your placement will be based on your lowest level.
While you are at CLARC you will meet with a counselor. This person will be your personal counselor, feel free to call them and ask them questions about schools.
Once you have finished your test they will give you a referral form. It will have a school option on it based on your literacy level and where you live. Phone the school of your choice to register. If their classes are full, you will go on a waitlist or speak to your counsellor at CLARC to try another school.
For the LINC program, students can register in person or over the phone at 403-516-1846.
