About our ESL Program

Agapé Language Centre provides English as a Second Language Classes for English Language Learners. We are an adult 'English as a Second Language' school offering morning ESL classes throughout the week. Our staff show that they care as they work with English Language Learners. The ESL program helps adults who are new to Canada improve their overall English proficiency levels. 

Our teachers are skilled at developing weekly themes and practical subjects and relate them directly to daily living and employable skills. This will help you as an ESL participant integrate smoothly into Canadian society. 

There will be no refund on any classes if the program has started or an option to try out the class first.

BASIC ESL CLASS

About this class:

The Basic Program is for those who have a limited understanding of English, do not know the Alphabet, or how to spell their name or in CLB 1 or 2 in LINC. This class looks to teach the much-needed fundamentals of English while looking at real-world situations; such as shopping, emergencies, travel, etc. Contact us at Contact@agapelanguagecentre.com if you are interested.

INTERMEDIATE ESL CLASS

Begins Tuesday, April 8, 2025

What is this class about?

This class is available for those who are more capable of the English language but would like to further their understanding or have registered in CLB 3 or 4 LINC. It helps participants develop the much-needed English abilities that are required in Canada to further their careers, education, and home life. This program also attracts participants who wish to learn English for personal enjoyment and get a chance to interact with people from various ethnic groups and cultures. Calgary has a diverse culture that attracts people from around the world. We are proud to have a school that resembles this diverse community.

Advanced esl cLASS

CLASSES START: April 8, 2025

About this Class:

The Advanced ESL program is available for recent graduates of the LINC program, working individuals, those planning on entering the workforce, and anyone already capable in English who wishes to maintain or improve their language skills for daily life. It is also useful for anyone preparing to take an English Proficiency Test for entrance into post-secondary education or who have completed CLB 5 and up in LINC.

At the beginning of the course, the teacher assesses student levels, personal interests, and goals for the course. Students work on all 4 skills (speaking, listening, reading, and writing) in both formal and informal settings and receive frequent constructive feedback on their progress.
